Homework Policy
Students are expected to submit any homework or classwork at the assigned due date. Absent students will have an additional two days to complete any work they missed. Students will have an additional day to submit any homework for full credit. After that, any work submitted will receive half credit. Once the class has moved past the chapter or unit* the missing assignment is in, the work will receive a 0% and will no longer be accepted.
Students who know they will be missing class should request classwork and assessments in advance. * A spelling "unit" will be the five units and the one review unit afterwards. |
Assessment Policy Students are expected to take tests or quizzes on the assigned day, as students will be notified several days in advance of any upcoming assessments. Assessment dates can shift around if a student if a student knows they will be absent or if this has been discussed with the teacher.
If a student is absent, the student must take the assessment within a week (7 days) of returning to school. |
"Incomplete" Marking (in Powerschool)
Any assignment, quiz, or test marked "incomplete" in Powerschool is expected to be completed or corrected within the school week it is returned to the student. The "incomplete" marking usually means that the student was not following directions, missed some questions, did not understand what the question was asking for, or something along those lines. This is an opportunity for students to correct themselves and show what they know.

Quizzes and Tests: Students have a full school week (5 days) to complete and submit corrections for credit. If the five days lands on a weekend or day off, the they are due the next available school day.

Test Corrections
In both third and fourth grade, students are able to correct their tests for partial credit. For every point off, they can earn back 1/2 of a point. Corrections will be due a week (5 days, to the nearest school day) after receiving the graded test. This date will be listed on the homework page, too. The steps to do this are located below:
1. Write down the entire problem and correct answer on a separate piece of paper. 2. If the question was answered incorrectly, write down how you reached that answer. - If the question was not answered or left blank, this step is not necessary. 3. Staple the separate piece of paper to the original quiz. 4. Submit the stapled test and corrections sheet to the teacher by the assigned due date. |
